Please read these terms and conditions which are applicable for me to be able to provide Solution Focused Hypnotherapy either on-line, within a clinic or as a home visit. They are designed to protect your interests as a client. By making an appointment, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions. If you are unable or unwilling to agree to these terms and conditions do not book an appointment, please get in touch so we can discuss any issues.
Standards of behaviour
During the course of any therapy, you will be treated with respect and I will not abuse the trust that you put in me. In return, you agree to partake in the sessions not under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs, except those medications prescribed by your doctor. If any conduct contravenes these standards of behaviour I reserve the right to cancel the session and any further therapy sessions.
Confidentiality
Any information collected from you as a client or potential client, including your contact details will be held in the strictest confidence. Your privacy will be respected. The details that you disclose are used solely for the purpose of providing you, the client, with the highest levels of service. No information will be passed on to any external parties without your express permission. Where permission is given to share information with an external party I will only supply information agreed with you and that I believe is in your best interest.
Exceptional circumstances of confidentiality include where there is a criminal or civil court case, where a court order has demanded disclosure, or where there is good cause to believe that failing to disclose information would cause danger or harm to you or others. Child Protection Issues fall into this category. Following your last appointment, your rights of confidentiality are permanent and client records are destroyed after 10 years.
The sharing of anonymous case histories is sometimes made to supervisors and peer-support groups as part of my Continuous Professional Development requirements. No personal details are ever used during these meetings.
Number of sessions
As I try to make clear “Change comes from within” and therefore can only realistically happen if you are fully committed to achieving your desired outcomes. It would be unethical of me to guarantee a cure or that you will obtain the goals you seek, as the control of thoughts, beliefs, emotions and behaviours always reside with you, the client. At no time will you be made to do anything against your will using hypnosis.
I will endeavour to apply my training, expertise and experience to your issues with the aim of achieving the agreed goals in as reasonable time as possible. Estimates of the number of sessions required to treat a condition given at any stage following our first interaction are given on the basis of the information presented at that time. Each client and the origins of their issues are unique. Estimates are only rough guidelines and are subject to change.
Punctuality
If you are running late or anticipate running late for your appointment, please leave a text message on 07587 401996. I am unable to accept calls when with a client but will pick up messages when I’m next available. I will aim to accommodate any delay starting your appointment but please be aware that my appointment schedule may not always permit this and therefore your appointment may have to finish at the original finishing time.
Cancellation
If you wish to change, postpone or cancel an appointment, I require 24 hours notice otherwise I reserve the right to charge the cost of the full session. If you wish to discontinue your course of therapy, you do not have to give a reason. You may provide these notices either verbally or in writing.
Medical Conditions
A medical questionnaire is conducted at the start of the initial consultation that helps me to identify any contra-indications for you to receive hypnotherapy. It is also used to assess whether your health is affecting the goals you wish to achieve. Please inform me if at any time during your course of therapy you commence, recommence or cease with any medication, prescribed or otherwise or if there are any medical changes.
